ThermoplasticPolyether-ester Elastomer
(TPEE)
Properties and Characteristics
All grades of S TPEEs are block copolymers consisting of a
hardsegment of PBT and a soft segment based on polyether glycols.
The polyether-ester block copolymers, also named polyester
rubber, combine the desirable elasticity of rubber and the strength
ofengineering plastics. The soft segment features it elasticity,
andmakes it like rubber; the hard segment features it
processsingcapability, and makes it like plastics. Compared with
rubber, it hasbetter processing capability and longer service life;
compared withengineering plastics, TPEE has high strength, better
flexibility andmechanical properties.
The available grades of SUNPRENETM TPEE are grouped into 4categories by performance:
High-performance grades exhibit high structural strength, widerange of hardness,
exceptional toughness and resilience; highresistance to creep,
abrasion and flex fatigue; flexibility at lowtemperatures; and good
retention of properties at elevatedtemperatures. In addition, they
resist deterioration from manyindustrial chemicals, oils and
solvents.
Applications:
Automotive components: steering wheeljackets, shock absorber
covers, dust cover of bellows, towedconnecting cover, remote
bellows, lock assembly of rear boot, doorlock assembly,
vibration-damping plate, hose shock reducer, airbagfittings, silent
gears, pipe stopper, plug, ball joint, shockabsorption stand of
glasses, shock absorption chassis, stone attackresistance coating
of chassis, etc.Footwear: sole of a shoe, heel of a shoe, wheels of
skate
Electrical appliance: cable jackets ofgrips of welding torch,
elastic buttons of electrical equipment, antenna cover of wireless
phone, wire and cable jackets, instrument, etc.Manufacturing
industry: slide of elevator, high-pressuregasket, silent gears of
recorder, silent gears of quartz clock, springof cigarette machine,
etc.Electric toolsSports requisites
Plastic alloy
Extruding and blow molding grades provide excellent meltstrength for making various kinds of covers
and hoses coupled with thedesirable characteristics of
high-performance grades.
Flame retardant grades are used for applications requiringflame retardant.
Modified grades are used as an excellent plastic modifier forblending with POM and
PBT to improve the impact resilience.
Processing
ALL grades of TPEEs are supplied as cylindrical pellets. Theyshall
be dried in dehumidified hopper dryer for 4 to 6 hours at
thetemperatures between 80 and 110℃. New materials can blend with
therecovered ones, but the added quantity shall be no more than
25%.
Inject molding: the temperature of pellets shall be 5 to15℃ higher than the
product melting range, the mold temperatureshall be 20 to 50℃,
injection pressure shall be 60 to 100 MPa.
Extruding and blow molding: the best L/D ratio of screwshall be 24:1, the temperature of
barrel shall be 5 to 10℃ higherthan the product melting range
